Program

The Urban Tree Diversity conference will run from Monday 22nd to Wednesday 24th of February, 2016. The first two days will provide an opportunity for up to 40 twenty minute presentations by speakers from industry, management and research institutions. In addition there will be five keynote plenary speakers:

Associate Professor Susan Day (Virginia Tech, USA) will be presenting her research and the status of a current USA wide program to promote urban forestry training and education.

Professor C Y Jim, (Hong Kong University, Hong Kong) will present on the challenges and opportunities of urban tree management in a rapidly growing Asian urban context.

Associate Professor Diane Pataki (University of Utah, USA) and is a leading researcher of urban tree physiology and ecology, particularly in the context of hot, dry cities – something many of us are having to contemplate in the future.

Professor Cecil Konijnendijk van den Bosch (SLU, Sweden) will bring a vision of community participation and engagement to drive positive and lasting change in our urban forests.

Anne Jaluzot (Trees and Design Action Group, UK), Lead author of ‘Trees in Hard Landscapes: A Guide for Delivery’ (2014) and ‘Trees in the Townscape: A Guide for Decision Makers’ (2012)
